GDPR – Privacy Policy at ICU Scandinavia AB

Your personal privacy and how we handle your personal data are important to us. Since 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies throughout the EU, and we want you as a visitor and customer to feel confident about how we handle your personal data.

Customers

We process your personal data to deliver the products and services you order from us, manage your customer relationship, and provide support. As a customer, this requires no action on your part — the details below explain how we handle and protect your data, and what rights you have.

Newsletter subscribers

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send you news and updates about our products. We use Minutemailer, a Swedish company, to do this, and your data stays within the EU. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Website visitors

We use cookies to understand how our website is used and to keep it running smoothly. Some cookies require your consent — you can accept, decline, or change your mind at any time using our cookie banner. See cookie information below for details on which cookies we use and why.

Who we share your data with

We never sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Google Analytics, to understand how our website is used
  • Hu-manity.co, to manage cookie consent
  • Minutemailer, to send our newsletter
  • WPForms, when you fill in a form on our website
  • Our web hosting provider, and other suppliers who help us deliver our services

Any supplier we share data with is required, by written agreement, to protect it to the same or higher standard as we do.

Data transferred outside the EU

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, our contracting entity within the EU. Where data is transferred onward to Google’s US operations, it’s done under safeguards recognised by the GDPR (Google’s Standard Contractual Clauses). Our other suppliers, including Minutemailer, store data within the EU.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as it’s needed for the purpose it was collected for. For customers, this generally means for as long as our relationship is active, plus any period required by law — for example, Swedish bookkeeping legislation requires financial records to be kept for 7 years. If you’re a newsletter subscriber, we keep your details until you unsubscribe.

Automated decisions

We don’t use automated decision-making or profiling that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Find out what personal data we hold about you
  • Correct any errors
  • Ask us to delete your data, where it’s no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your data, in certain situations
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • Receive your data in a portable format, where relevant
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it

There may be legal requirements that mean we can’t always delete your data straight away — for example, bookkeeping or consumer protection law.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), at www.imy.se.

Do you have to give us your data?

In some cases, yes — for example, to fulfil a contract or issue an invoice. Without this information, we may be unable to provide the product or service you have requested.

Cookie information

  • Essential cookies, which keep the website running and remember your cookie preferences. These don’t require your consent, since the site can’t function properly without them.
  • Statistics cookies, provided by Google Analytics, which help us understand how visitors use our website. These are only used if you’ve given your consent.
  • Video cookies, currently set by an embedded YouTube video on our homepage. We’re in the process of moving to a self-hosted video to remove this.

You can accept, decline, or change your choice at any time using the “Revoke consent” option in the cookie banner.
